ISAF/Multi-hulls/2012.

All National Chairmen will have heard of the dreadful results from the ISAF mid May meeting in China concerning multihulls for 2012. There is still a strong international movement to overturn that decision, and it is important to get views from National Chairmen which reflect their member’s opinions. Our President was present and will inform the Council members the details of the meeting.

ISAF/Multi-hulls/2012.
All the work here that can be done , has been done !! We look forward to theISAF discussions in mid May in China. Multihull sailors worldwide are lucky that our Chairman, Olivier Bovyn will be attending, and we all look forward to Olivier’s report upon his return.

Worlds Spain 2008.
As I write, we are at 132 entries, and we still have quite a few more to come from countries who are still completing their National qualifying. We will have a discussion in Spain as to the best way to go in the future, the organisers want early entries and the countries can’t know until their National teams qualify.

ISAF/Multi-hulls/2012.
We have done a great deal of work and have led many countries in the last few weeks. We thank Nick Dewhirst, F18 sailor and Chairman of United Kingdom Catamaran Association for his leadership.
Nick has been instrumental in establishing the International Multi-hull Council (IMC). The responses that we had from Chairmen, suggested that we should join the IMC with all haste.

F18 Worlds Spain 2008.
We have only 167 days to go and we are working hard. BUT BUT we do need many countries to look at their entry levels. We have discussed before the problems about countries arranging their ranking and so not being able to let the Organising Committee know the numbers until late in the year. It really is TOO LATE !!  Some of our sponsors, local Council and Government are wanting to see the real numbers come forward, when this happens, they are happy to increase their sponsorship. We told them we would get to 160 teams, as I write we are at 84 !!  I know myself of many, many names of recognised sailors who will be there and have not entered yet, I understand the ranking problems, but let us all put names forward if we haven’t already done so.
We have the Australians all booked up with full container and ready, good local turnout from the Spanish, but we only have three from France, one from Germany, one from Ireland and one from Italy (and he is an Australian), and just ten Dutchmen.   PLEASE Chairmen regard this as important. I have stressed before that we said “numbers MAY be limited to 160”, which means we can have more,  so let’s go for it !!!
Please keep up todate with the excellent website, especially for important matters of accommodation. www.f18worlds2008.com
